The battle system is used with 6-sided dice. (the random dice button is found in the reply window so you can't use quick reply to battle.)
The dice will predict a miss or a hit, 1, 2, or 3 is a miss and 4, 5, or 6 is a hit.
You may only use up to three actions in a battle and the opponent must try to defend you. (Note: You can not use the same action more than once and you don't have to use exactly three actions, you could use one or two if you wish.)
--------------------
Example:
Member A
HP: 200
Attack: 100
Attack: 5
Member B
HP: 200
Attack: 100
Dodge: 6
-----------------------
This leaves Both members untouched, although, if member B's roll was a 3 2 or 1 they would be left with 100 HP instead of 200.
(There will be battle judges so you don't have to worry about doing Math)
The actions you can use are:
Attack
Magic/techniques (if you have any)
Defend
Use Item
Delivery
All of these work with the 1 2 3 miss 4 5 6 hit strategy except the items which work every time. To use one of the actions, just type the name of the action in your post and hit the dice roll.
If you need an item but you're all out, use Delivery and type the item you need beside it. A moogle will then come and give you the item you need. Although, you need to pay. Check out the prices at Mog's Delivery Service in the shop board. The amount of items and magic abilities you have will be recorded in the inventory board.
How do you get magic abilities? You will sometimes receive magic abilities after completing certain missions. But you're not told which missions will teach you what magic abilities it's all luck. Also, different magic abilities hurt your opponent more than others because of your opponents element. if your opponent was a fire element and you used a blizzard element, it would hurt them more than if you used a earth element against them. here's the chart.
Fire and blizzard are weak against each other.
Water and thunder are weak against each other.
Earth and Wind are weak against each other.
It may be a bit confusing but you'll get the hang of it.
If you have any questions don't be afraid to ask.
